Motherboard for gaming pc build

Hello, I'm going to be building a gaming pc soon and am trying to decide what parts to put in. I am aiming to create a pc that will be able to run high-end pc games for quite a few years to come. The problem is that I know very little about mother boards any thus am in need of your assistance. Would you be able to recommend to me a motherboard that would suit my gaming needs.

Thanks in advance.

I'm considering the Intel Core i7-3770 processor but I'm still not certain. I'm hoping the total build will be around $1500, it's going to be a gaming pc so I'm not sure how much of that should go towards the motherboard. What ever you think.

I agree with Strangle's choice of board, that's a great board. If you want to save cost then a UD3H will also be fine.

I don't think you need a 3770 though, I reckon an i5 3570K will be fine (by the way the i5 will also work with that board). If you do get an i7, you may want to go for the 3770K instead as it is easier to overclock.

yeah valkyrie...the sabertooth is a good board, but will not smoke anything out there. when i built my system, i also built my friends with the same cpu and graphics card, but he had the sabertooth board. i have to say, him and i are both in favor of the maximus V gene that i have. i think there are a few asus boards that are a little better than the sabertooth, and goes the same for some gigabyte boards.
