I am look for a good 'bang for buck' and reliable motherboard for my new i7-3770k CPU. I plan to run my PC 24/7 and running CPU intensive numerical analysis and gaming.

All along I was planning on going for the Asrock Extreme4, however, through my research I have managed to find a Asus P8Z77-V Intel Z77 for roughly the same price as the Asrock Extreme4, what are your suggestions on which would be the better motherboard to go for? I have posted the links below.

Thanks.

You're links don't work for me.
Either way, I'd get a Gigabyte instead; either the GA-Z77X-UD3H or the GA-Z77X-UD5H.

of the two you linked the p8z77 is better. I would rather you get a gigabyte UD3H or UD5H though. Far better units.

:good: Thanks everyone, could you please provide some more information on how the Gigabytes are more superior to the ASrock or ASUS options?

Thanks.

Gigabyte have better customer support than ASUS from what I've heard and their Z77 boards are generally cheaper and offer better price:performance than the ASUS ones, that's not to say the ASUS boards are 'bad' or anything, they do make some fantastic boards, but Gigabyte is usually cheaper.

Gigabyte also have their new 'ultra-durable' technology which makes the boards less static sensitive which is always a bonus. :)

ASRock are cheaper still, but they're part of ASUS.

ASrock can be summed up in one word. Cheap. They carry Asus support with more or less about the same "specs" but with lesser quality parts in it.

Gigabyte is going to be the best around if you need customer support and a reasonable price.
