will be my first time building.
any suggestions?
if possible Want
handle 32gb ddr3
be able to hook 6 drives or more(raid)
No audio
no graphics( if that's possible)if not bare minimum

10+usb ports
firewire or 2
lan

thanks

For personal computing 4 to 6 gigabytes of RAM is more than adequate. 32 gigabytes of memory is just a waste to spend your money on in my opinion.

My error for assuming it was a personal computer and not a server. Sorry.
I would like to build a server someday. It would be fun.

I'm fairly sure the most that any AM3 board will take is 16GB. You will have to go with what stranglehold suggested to have your 32GB.

To get your 10+USB ports, you will have to get a couple of these or similar:

you can see all of the PCI-USB adapters here:

and for firewire:

wait wait wait. so they had an 8 core processor? then why was everyone jumping up and down about the worlds first 6 core processor? did the 8 core come after?

Yes for servers not mainstream retail. Not many boards for socket G34 right now.

Here's my pick on a board for a 1090T-

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128441

Has 10 USB ports in the back (if you count the USB/Esata combo's), and lots of SATA ports. Has firewire and two LAN's. No oboard GFX. Sweet board, I'm considering it myself but I really like my 790XT-UD4P right now and have no ''need'' for it, just want it LOL.

I pick gigabyte over Asus any day of the week and twice on sunday.
