Motherboard Fried Maybe

A problem of my own now

Managed to shove an agp graphix card into a pci-express slot (could have sworn i'd bought a pci-e card). Anyway, when i turned it on i never got any picture (from the card or from my ownboard graphix).

I've taken it out but it's still doing the same thing. There are no 'beep's to indicate that it's booting. Just the fans whirring when i power it on.

Any suggestions?

Hopefully you didn't short the board there with that one. You could try clearing the cmos to see if the board is worth saving. With the "Correct" card seated properly you may then hear the default beep again. One more likely cause is a connector came off of the small block at the front of the board if the bios didn't simply go bbbbooooiiiiinnnnngggg! right out the door.

im sorry man but i had to laugh when i read that...you very likely killed the board doing that since it just doesn't fit

If anything actually did get fried it would be the vga cricuit on the board. UT OH! The controller said "see ya!" and you are now stuck needing a seeing eye dog for the board. :(
