Is this a good motherboard?? Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L or should i go with something else, I was initially looking at an asus p5k motherboard, but saw the Gigabyte board I thought of buying that instead. But I need something that’s going to be good for gaming, I already have ordered one of those new C2D processor and a ATI 3850 graphics card I just want a good motherboard that would work with these for gaming purposes, if you have any suggestions I’d gladly listen

Gigabyte is a great MB brand. Asus is selective on memory, I do not recommend those. The P35 chipset is great, and compatible with the new 45nm CPUs. If you are not overclocking, and obviously not running SLI, then definitely get the Gigabyte that you spoke of.

Gigabyte is a good brand name then, ok cool, here's a link to the motherboard, this is the one I’m looking at, or should I get a higher end one?

I was going to go sli/crossfire but thought there's no point cause buy the time I want to get another graphics card to up the graphics there will probably be another card out there that will beat both card in sli/crossfire mode for a low price. But does having an extra PCI-E 16 slot an advantage or not

Here are some motherboards I’m currently looking at would any of you be able to point me in the direction of which ones better, I might over clock in the future but it wont be right of the bat. So I’m just looking for a board that can be used for some intense gaming. I play games like COD4, dawn of war, bio shock etc… here are the boards, tell me what you guys would go with, price isn’t a big thing but I wont go over $140 on the mobo though.

GA-P35-DS3L is good. The downside is it only have 4 x SATA and no RAID.
If you likely to have more than 4 SATA device, just go for a DS3R
