Hey all I am having a problem with one of my computers. I think i might need a new motherboard. I really am not sure. My computer knowledge is limited, so I hope this question is easy to answer. :)

I was browsing the internet when the internet just stopped working. Windows XP displayed the Area Network cable is unplugged logo in the task bar. I checked my cable modem, cables, router and other computers and everything was working fine. No new drivers or anything. I then checked the back of my computer and the green light in the Ethernet port was no longer on. (it was always on when working) I think the part of the motherboard that accepts the Ethernet cable has failed. The LAN onboard the motherboard is this.

# Realtek RTL8101L LAN PHY
# 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet controller

This is the computer I am having problems with.

Here is the motherboard specs

Do I need to replace the motherboard so I can plug my Ethernet into the computer and have it work?

thanks all
