Hey, i recently posted a thread in another subcatogory about help with finding me a GFX card. From that thread i found out i have PCI slots and aparntly thats not good for what i need (to be able to un the latest games, but running most i get Grafical lag) and then someone told me maybe a new motherboard is in order (is it?), so i have a few questions.

1. What is exacly a motherboard

2. Does it contain a GFX card(my grafics card is intergrated at the moment)

3. I need a fairly good one i think, and i need it to be cheap! what price range am i looking at?

I think thats it :-) any help would be great!

1. What is exacly a motherboard
A: It is the thing that runs you computer. Everything from your hard drive to your cpu and sound the mobo dose it all

2. Does it contain a GFX card(my grafics card is intergrated at the moment)
A: Alot of the hi end boards dont have onboard video. But if you are a gamer you don't want onboard video anyway

3. I need a fairly good one i think, and i need it to be cheap! what price range am i looking at?
A: It all depends on what you are looking for but you could spend anywhere from $75 to $250

A motherboard, also known as a mainboard, system board, or logic boards on Apple computers, and sometimes abbreviated as mobo (generally credited to the magazine Maximum PC) is the central or primary circuit board making up a complex electronic system, such as a modern computer.

A typical computer is built with the microprocessor, main memory, and other basic components on the motherboard. Other components of the computer such as external storage, control circuits for video display and sound, and peripheral devices are typically attached to the motherboard via ribbon cables, other cables, and power connectors.
