motherboard monitor dont work for gigabyte

i have a gigabyte ga-965g-ds3 and i cant find the settings for mbm5 after i updated it. Does anyone else know of a good free program i can download to monitor my system temps. also i have a 9700zelman cpu heatsink/fan i can use a program to control that as well?

Intel Thermal Analysis Tool is good and SpeedFan is alright as well.

You can't use a program to control it, but you can use the fan controller that came with it.

for some odd reason i have the cable pluged into the board and cpu fan and when i turn the switch nothing happens. Im not sure if there is something in the bios that is over riding the manual switch.

So you have the controller plugged in correctly? The CPU fan should plug into the box, and then it should go back through the cable and into the board.
