I am having problems with my HP which has a ASUS (K8N8X-LA PES) motherboard in it. Lost power in a storm the other day and it would not turn on at all. Like it had no power. So I popped it open to take a quick look and found a green light flashing by where you plug in the 20 pin connector from the power supply to the motherboard. The light went off so I plug it back in and the light turned on and didn't blink. So I tried powering up the computer and it worked.
Then I turned off the computer and unplugged the power cord from the power supply for about a minute and plugged it back in. The computer still worked. But if I keep it unplugged for over 20 minutes I get the original problem with the green light blinking. Any thoughts on this?
