Motherboard problem?

I am having problems with my HP which has a ASUS (K8N8X-LA PES) motherboard in it. Lost power in a storm the other day and it would not turn on at all. Like it had no power. So I popped it open to take a quick look and found a green light flashing by where you plug in the 20 pin connector from the power supply to the motherboard. The light went off so I plug it back in and the light turned on and didn't blink. So I tried powering up the computer and it worked.

Then I turned off the computer and unplugged the power cord from the power supply for about a minute and plugged it back in. The computer still worked. But if I keep it unplugged for over 20 minutes I get the original problem with the green light blinking. Any thoughts on this?

Try replacing the power supply. If your lucky, the power outage only took the power supply and nothing else.

Thats good to hear, you got really lucky.

yeah you are. i hear MANY stories about people losing a lot of their system due to things like this. if hollywood wants to make a sad movie just make a movie about a man and his computer (a cool one) and then just kill off the computer...
