Motherboard Problem?

I built my computer with the help of my brother a little less than a year ago. We got it all together and could get to BIOS n set stuff up, but couldn't get any farther. I took it to a guy who said he fixed it in about 15 min. but still cost me $60. It's been working great until today when i took the memory to see what kind it was and when i put it back in i have the same problem. When i turn it on it says it recognizes my processor, memory and IDE drives but then stops. It does allow me to get into BIOS. any suggestions?

here is what's in it:
939 AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Machspeed Viper 939AGP
1gb ddr400
AGP sapphire radeon 9600 atlantis 256mb

like i said.. it can't be too complicated but I really don't know what to look for. THanks alot.

First off you need a Welcome to the Computer Forum! http://www.computerforum.com/70672-official-welcome-thread.html Please be sure to review the http://www.computerforum.com/52038-forum-rules.html

The first question would be how the memory was handled as far as taking esd precautions and if you made sure the memory was seated down properly. While removing the memory did you bump any cables? If you happened to brush up again the ide cable it may have pulled out a little where you now are not able to boot the system properly.
