Motherboard problems!!!

Synesthesia

(Luckily I bought a laptop a week ago)

Ok......I turned on my computer today and noticed that my sound stopped working correctly. There was allot of distortion and the volume was very low...so I went to the HT Omega website to see if downloading new drivers would help. It went through the usual steps, though much slower than before, and commenced to restart my computer. The computer turned off the screen, but never turned it back on. I turned it off by unplugging it (all buttons were unresponsive), but it just hanged with the fans running full blast and nothing on the screen. I took the battery out to reset the bios, and went through the jumper switching method.....but nothing happened. It still does the same thing. Is my motherboard dead? Is there anything I can do? I am really starting to get pissed the f*** off with Asus:mad:. TWO OF THEIR BOARD HAVE DIED ON ME IN THE PAST 8 MONTHS, ALL P5N-D'S. This is ridiculous....and whats worse is that I am not in much of a situation to make repairs immediately.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay. No beeps at all.

This sucks....

One thing that I noticed that was not there before is that even when I unplugged both hard drives, the computer made a clicking sound after 6 or so seconds for about 2 seconds. As far as I know the only moving part capable of making that noise is the hard drive?

Well I would try disassembling the entire system, and put it back together again, and if that is no luck, I'd say there is a good chance you have a dead board.

If the ram were the problem then the system would beep like crazy. If it was the hard drive, then at least the opening screen would load.

It only has a 30 day refund and return policy. It has been way more than 30 days since I bought it.

That's Newegg's return policy. Might want to check if Asus still provides a warranty.
