Motherboard questions....

Well as for which is more important it gaming it really depends on which game. Older games only support single or dual cores and most new games support 4 cores or more (save for the Stalker games, they are single threaded) but it really depends on the game engine.

but out of those two the i5-760 is better. Also, that motherboard is quite good yes.

SO what do the GHz do as far as performance? >.<

So in picking my processor and motherboard, I've come up with the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO
and the AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black.

Good pair?

GHz only matters if the two processors are of exactly the same architecture; i.e. A core i3-540 would be faster than a core i3-530 (2.93/3.06 GHz respectively) because they're both of the "clarkdale" 32nm archtecture.

Yes, good combo, but if you're overclocking it would be better to get the slightly slower X4-955, then use the few bucks saved on buying a third-party Heatsink/fan, so you can OC higher. Otherwise, the 965 is all good.

First, for the price in the intels, go for the quad. Second, the Ghz are the speed at which it opperates, so the more Ghz the faster it is, typically comparing similarly built chips. That Motherboard is great because you get to chose which type of graphics card you wanna use, nVidia or ATi. Not all Mobos let you have a choice as far as SLI or CrossfireX.
