Motherboard standoffs - consequenses of forgetting

Hey

Having ALOT of problems with my pc.
Getting "no signal" on screen after moving parts from one case to another
Checked EVERYTHING (ram, cpu, psu, connecting to motherboard without grapichs card)

But, I also bought a new motherboard (cause of the no signal problem) and when I put the new one in I forgot the chopper screws (forgot that with the old one in the new case also) and bootet and got the same problem.
Is it possible that I broke another motherboard?

And is there any very smart and wise people out there that know a solution the the "no signal" problem?

Usually if you put the standoffs in, usually you get lucky enough that it boots up without damage, but there is always a chance you have done damage already. Put the stand offs in and see what happens.

Yeah, i did that and i have the same problem - "no signal"
And I tried the RAM thing and swopping out the psu, and still the same problem.

I tried everything I have read everywhere and I'm getting nowhere:confused:

No, what is it and how do I do it?
And when everything worked in the old case, can that just stop working just by moving the parts?
(Sorry for all the noob questions)

All depends. Worst enemy of computer parts is static electricity when removing and replacing. As far as resetting the cmos, do this.

Unplug power cord from power supply, remove cmos battery from motherboard, press the power button on the case for about 10 seconds then wait about 10 minutes. Then reinsert battery and reconnect power cable and try booting up.

Okay, thanks.
Is it safe to "start" the motherboard with power and ram just laying on the table? Or does it have to be in the box?

Motherboard should be placed on a piece of cardboard or on top of the motherboard box if you have it.

When you say no signal, do you mean that nothing at all happens, like no beeps from motherboard, no fans, etc, or do you mean that the monitor displays no signal? It does make a difference. If it is your monitor stating no signal, then I would check the monitor cable, monitor, and or graphics cord if you have one.
