if i KNOW im going to be swapping motherboards, is there anything i can do to increase my chances on it just booting right up when i hook everything up to the new board?

ive swapped motherboards about 5 times now, and sometimes it will boot right up no problems and i can install the new drivers, then others it requires a windows re-install

any tricks to this?

what i would do is try to see if it'll boot up with the new mobo, and if it doesnt, and you have two cd drives i'd try to...

put the drivers u need for your mobo on a cd and stick that cd into one drive then restart your computer booting from the windows cd in another drive, then go to repair console and copy the driver from your other cd to the windows:/system32/drivers folder and reboot to see if it worked in order to avoid having to reinstall.

p.s. if u decide to try this let me know how it goes :)

As said, boot it up and see what happens. As long as you have similar chipsets and all, you should be fine. I swapped from an nForce4 to an nForce4 Pro once (or something along those lines) and my previous install worked just fine.
