The problem you will have is that you can't just throw any motherboard into OEM cases as HP. They tend to use custom motherboard/case connections and a non OEM motherboard will not match up to existing cables. I would suggest just buyiny a new case and unfortunately, you will have to reinstall windows on a new motherboard. You will not be able to use your OEM license on a non HP motherboard.

hmm alright so i may be better off just trying to snag another motherboard from hp cause the motherboard wasnt bad i just couldnt fix it after putting new ram in it it was throwing the beep codes at me for a memory problem and didnt go away no matter what i tried

Have you tried resetting the cmos on it? Are you using memory that the motherboard supports?

i dont think ive tried the cmos thing ive tried flashing the bios and yea the 4 gig dd3 memory from pny says it falls under my computer

the 1st comment to this post is false. hp uses micro atx boards in their cases. its just that the way they make their cases, they mount the motherboard upside down. ANY micro atx board will work FINE with that case, as WELL AS with the cases connectors. ive worked on tese types pf HP Computers to know its possible.
