Yes it's that time, upgrade time :D
I have purchased an Abit KN8 mobo, to go along with my new Nvidia 6800GS.

1) I would like to know what steps I should take, software wise before and after the upgrade.

2) I have also heard that Windows XP dosent go well with motherboard upgrades, is this fact or fiction?

3) Where on earth can I find a review for the Abit KN8 mobo, I seriously cant find one

4) What are you opinions on the ABIT KN8 mobo?

Thanks

1. well umm after i changed my motherboard, i have to reinstall most of the drivers of the hardwares attached to the mobo
2. the problem i was having is some corrupted files hehe and fortunately theyre all fixed =]
3. is this kind of review you were looking for? http://www.dealtime.com/xPO-Abit_ATHLON_64_64FX_AMD_SKT_939
4. every mobo should be great =] otherwise why would they sell it? hehe

While you can just reinstall the drivers, for best performance and stability you're best off to reinstall Windows, particularly if the new mobo uses a different chipset (likely). Also, you may have to reactivate Windows.

Keep in mind that you can reinstall Windows without having to reformat, just boot from the XP CD choose Repair Installation (not recovery console), but I prefer to reformat and clean everything up when I make such a major change.
