motherboard without a prcessor

quick serious question, what would happen if you would try to turn on a motherboard without a processor but ram and power supply hooked up?

I can't remember what happened but I had a similar situation where the processor wasn't seated fully and other than a blank screen, nothing really happened.

nothing happens, some motherboards wont even power on. but if it doesn power on it will just have a blank screen. not even any beeps without the processor

I tried this for you XD

All it did, was beep, The screen showed POST for 2 seconds, then reboot

yup I have assembled many PC, and sometimes even bad processors they just beep, usually long beeps.

On my practice Slot one motherboards, just a low long beep. Never shut off. I'm suprised it posted for even 2 seconds!

It wont boot up, you will either hear long beeps or it simply wont boot up.
