Any suggestions on mb brands, im going with an amd 939. Abit, Asus? Also what would be a decent price for an mb/cpu combo?
 
cpu/mb combo 200-350...would this get me a decent set up? Im not a "hardcore" gamer...Yes i love games, but im currently running on my parents dell home edition, and its fine for me...

Yes, but it depends on what other components you are using, particularly the video card in terms of gaming.

EDIT: To fit the X2 3800+ into your budget, you can try the MSI RX480 $53, which adds up to exactly $350 with the X2. You can also use this mobo with the 3500+ to cut down on costs, you've specified an awfully large price range!
