Any suggestions on mb brands, im going with an amd 939. Abit, Asus? Also what would be a decent price for an mb/cpu combo?
 
cpu/mb combo 200-350...would this get me a decent set up? Im not a "hardcore" gamer...Yes i love games, but im currently running on my parents dell home edition, and its fine for me...

You can look at something like:
AMD Athlon 3500+ $201
ASUS A8R-MVP $95.99

Total $306.99

If you can stretch your budget to $400, the AMD Athlon X2 3800+ $297, along with that mobo will make a superb setup for $392.99

Yes, but it depends on what other components you are using, particularly the video card in terms of gaming.

EDIT: To fit the X2 3800+ into your budget, you can try the MSI RX480 $53, which adds up to exactly $350 with the X2. You can also use this mobo with the 3500+ to cut down on costs, you've specified an awfully large price range!
