Mounting a .ISO and playing on VLC?!?!?!?

Hi!

I have an American DVD which used to work on my VLC(Irish PC) but now wont(it runs but appears all digital blotchy)however it works perfectly on a friends machine on VLC,so I think its a problem with my DVD drive.

Anyway,I created a .ISO image of the DVD on my friends machine and have tried to mount and use that on my PC,and I get the error:

"Playback failure:
VLC cannot set the DVD's title. It possibly cannot decrypt the entire disc.
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvd://F:\'. Check the log for details."

So then I exracted the data from the image and got several .VOB files. The intro file works on VLC but the others dont.

Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? How I can fix it?I'm not sure if the .ISO is the problem or VLC or whatever.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you! :D

p.s.I used MagicISO to make the .ISO images

What program are you using to mount it?
Where did you get the DVD from? It could be region locked, which normally wouldn't effect VLC, but your hardware could be blocking it due to the region.

I'm using MagicDisc(MagicISO's tool for mounting)

I bought it a yr or 2 ago and it did work on my computer before on VLC,but now my DVD drive appears to be broken :(
