mouse and keyboard stop working at win 7 login

i recently installed a program for firmware recovery on my iphone and during the install i lost power to my mouse and keyboard, thinking it was an error i restarted my comp and the mouse lights up and the keyboard works untill the win 7 startup screen when they both instantly stop working again. they are both enabled in bios and wont work in safe mode either. any advice on what to do :confused:
 
I'd boot into safe mode, and go into device manager and uninstall all your USB items and controllers and reboot into normal mode and see if it takes.
 
maybe i could fix this issue by plugging in somebody elses HDD and exploring the files in my drive in my computer?
