i do a lot of motion graphics and design so what mouse would people reccomend. i would like a wired mouse and an optical. i dont like ball mouse's that what i have now. a Dell one and i would like a different one! any ideas? thanks!!! :D

What's the budget for the mouse? Look at Logitech mice, they are VERY nice, I have a MX1000 (laser wireless) and its really comfortable. Logitech carries a great lineup of wired mice.

Logitech Mouse

I have a Logitech Ladybird (don't be put off by the pretty exterior) wire optical mouse and find no troubles when working on design programs.
It cost me £15 (around $30, i think)

Hope this helps.
:)

thanks for the help. i used to have a logitech mouse but i didnt like all of the software that came with it. i'd just like a plug and play and no hassle or anything else cloggin up my system. i like to keep it basic with what i have. ive also checked some of them out and they look pretty cool! Thanks! and also the budget is whatever. i dont mind as long as its not ridiculus.

You know ive looked into tablets but i just cant use them, i should really but i have real difficulty. have you ever used one? and they do look wicked! thanks for the links! :D

i have not used those particular tablets but i have used a tablet PC and it is a different feeling. I never was able to design since it was a small PC for travel. My multimedia teacher here has one like the last one but smaller and i might try that out

Yeah they are cool i just cant use em. i think its the fact that i cant really draw at all so when it comes to design. but i need to practice. its catch22. you'll have fun when you use one. but i dunno it might be the kick i need to learn to use it. who knows? :D

You want to see the mouse I use for my graphics designs and such?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16826178004

That one and my $25 Memorex wireless mouse I got from Big Lots a while back. To me, the $50+ mice aren't all they're hyped up to be. I mean about the only complaint I have about my FireLine is the wheel is kind of cheap(sometimes will tilt sideways/get a little stuck...) But honestly, what can you say for a $5 mouse :P

Thanks for that link. that seems to be a good mouse. and yeah for $4 what can you say? but im really stuck between a tablet and a mouse. i might buy both and see how i fair with them both. have you ever used a tablet?

Depends what type of designing you really do. If it's just graphics and brushes, templates, webpages, animations, etc. you don't need a pen tablet. It'll be a waste. Pen tablets are for designing things like art, so as to say, you're drawing in Photoshop, making scans of drawings-scanning them in-then redrawing them on photoshop, shading and drawing cartoons, animation, etc.

Using a tablet well takes a lot of practice. My friends, who's an artist, still struggles a bit when she drawns on her new tablet. Really, she can't "draw" on it, but just use it to color in her scanned artwork and such.

Unless you're planning on actually drawing, a plain mouse would be fine. I'm not saying to get that little cheapo one like I have, but I do have two of them and really like them both :P So far they're better than the $10 Big Lots portable mice I've gotten in the past :P Hehehe

Logitech Revolution

In 2 day's my new mouse will arrive here :) It looked pretty nice to me (yea.. its wireless,. but it has a charger stand, and the battery lasts about 7 day's according to the specs :) and the wireless connection is bluetooth,.. not radio :o )
anyway, I'll post again when i have it, if its really as nice as i think, i'll reccomend it.. if its not, ofcourse i wont :)

got it today =] Its charging for the first time atm.. its big.. well, not as big as the MS trackball optical,. but still big :) feels nice tough.
I've never actually been impressed by the looks of a mouse.. but this one looks bloody stylish :o and the freeweel thinky is cool too. ( you have to press down the mouseweel like 2mm to activate/deactivate it.. so the mouse can also be used for games :D
havnt used it yet,.. so can't go further into details.. but the first impression:.. awesome =)
