My mouse has recently started freezing up. When it does freeze I have to disconnect and reconnect the mouse to get it to work again. Im running winxp home edition. I have 2gb of ram installed and virtual memory is set to 4098mb.

So far I have done the following:

    • Ran check disk
    • Ran c cleaner
    • changed mouse
    • ran malware bites, super spyware and mse
    • done disk defrag also

Problem still persists. Please help and advise.

My saitek cyborg does that. But it also seems to "slide" to a top corner. the usb cable plugs into my keyboard and its a bit dodgy that all. Have you tried other ports or even another mouse?

Drivers? Let Windows manage swap file ( I do not think this will do anything but about as good as you setting size in the first place).

I'll agree with powerpack on the drivers suggestion.

Usually they come in two forms. The first is that the mouse icon freezes or locks but you can still move it around. There are other programs or background processes that do not work and playing well with your mouse drivers may be in the running. Take any measure, however, you already have programs that are open when the mouse freezes the total number had to look.
