Mouse is double clicking when pressed once

As the title implies my 7 month old Logitech MX1000 mouse sometimes double clicks when I only press it once. I'd say it happens about 67% of clicks it is very annoying when trying to select and move things around in folders. I have the latest version of SetPoint installed and the batteries are fully charged and the charging station is no more than 6 inches from the mouse at all times.

Thanks in advance.

have you at least tried a different mouse first, to see if it's the mouse or the pc? if it's the pc, then you know it's software related (unless you have some weird usb or ps2 problem). windows should pick up the mouse in either case and it should work properly.

Yes a different mouse works so I might just send the mouse away for the three year warranty it has. I only posted this topic in case there was an alternatives to shipping it out. So if anyone has any it would be much appreciated.

Ok, after having gone to best buy to check if they could replace it I came home and stole a mouse from another computer and it worked fine and my MX1000 didn't, my mom got mad that I took the mouse off her computer so I gave her mine figuring she wouldn't care about the double clicking. But it works on her computer. I've got the latest drivers so I don't see what the problem could be Please HELP!!
