Mouse problem hard to solve.

Ok, I'd like to point at first that this problem is very strange to me and impossible to solve for now. That's why I registered here. So, here's the story:
I'm playing q3 much on standard windows mouse settings with no mouse acceleration set in q3. When I installed q4 something changed my mouse behaviour in windows. Now it's moving a bit slower, the change is hardly noticeable but it is. When I launch q3... tragedy, I have to move my mouse from one corner of my desk to another just to do 360 turn. I tried to adopt my ingame sensitivity and acceleration to new situation but it was never similar to what I've had before q4 installation. 'There has to be something wrong with my registry mouse settings' - I said. I compared registry entries from HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Mouse to plain windows xp entries and guess what, there were the same: everything mouseaccell, mouse speed, treshold, xcurve and ycurve, everything the same. I know reinstalling windows will take desired effect but I don't want to do this, I've too much data already installed. Now, If anyone was be able to help me I'll be very content. I thought about downloading pure windows xp registry backup and applying it to my system but I don't know where to find it or if it took effect. I hope I have stated the case clear and everybody is able to understand my situation. I look forward to your help.

edit: ah, and I've thrown away all q4 registry entries.
Regards, Baph.

I'm not sure what you meant here. It sounds like you want to replace your entire registry? if so then don't.

What mouse are you using? version of XP? perhaps you could install mouse drivers from the manufacturer of your mouse and adjust your settings within the driver. This may help your settings stick so to speak.

I have Intellimouse Explorer v. 3.0 by Microsoft, and I installed latest Intellipoint drivers, switched the mouse to ps2 then back to usb, nothing helped ;/ Im outta clues ;/

I owe big favour to someone who helps me with it.

I thought only about replacing some of my registry entries into my system only those which are different.

I'm still confused to what you mean. Different from what? everyones registry is going to be different.

As for the mouse problem I don't have a fix but I have found that with some of Microsoft's mice tend to act strangely.

My mouse never acted strangely until I installed this damn q4 and ran it. Im assumin q4 installation changed something with my registry, someone know what changes does q4 do when it comes to mouse when installing?

No I'm sorry I don't. I must say I've played Quake 4 and my computer did not act strangely as yours has. If you go into your registry and click "edit" then "find" and type in quake4 then you should find most of the changes made by Quake 4 I would "assume". Remember that as always it can be very risky playing around in your registry and it should be left up to someone that knows what they are doing. You cannot just download any part of a windows registry and use it that I know of. Everybody's registry will be a little different.

hmmmm, have you tried going into control panel, click on MOUSE, click on the POINTER OPTIONS tab, and under MOTION, you can bump up your mouse pointer speed

that happened to me too...i installed q4 demo (this game is awsome, way much better than doom 3) then installed q3 and my mouse lags in q3. maybe there's an opengl conflct between these two games.
