I am not in any way a computer fix it person, however, my boss has a Gateway computer and as long as he is not in the interent his mouse works great. Once he gets on the internet he has no control over his mouse. It does what it wants. He thinks that if I uninstall his AOL and re-install this will fix it. Anybody got any ideas for help with this.
Thanks,
Cynthia

it does look like it is the AOL software that is causing the problem, have to scanned the computer for viruses beucase they can sometimes do things to your mouse pointer when you open certain applictions.

How do I know what type of mouse is in use? I do know what a USB port is on the computer, but what is a PS2 mouse? Thanks for the help

pretty explicit dragon! anyway, you need anti-virus software in order to scan for virus. If you got one and can spend a penny on it then I suggest you have to use Mcafee. AVG Anti-virus is also there and you can get it for free, yet, you have to download it through the net.
