Hey!
I have a Logitec mouse on my XP desktop computer, and since a couple of days the mouse stops working every minute. It stops moving the cursor during 5-7 seconds, when it stops I hear a ding-dong and when it starts again I hear a dong-ding. I have tried the driver renewal, putting it in another USB, renewed the USB driver, nothing helps.
It came up the first time 3-4 days ago, and at that time it did not stop so frequently I think, but now it stops almost every minute for 5-7 seconds .
Does anybody know this error? How can I have it fixed so that the mouse does no longer stop all the time?

Hey!
No,no... not wireless!
It seems to be a serious error which Microsoft detected themselves also when I sent a error report to them. However they have no solution and Logitec don't eighter.
It seems to be something with one of my drivers, mouse driver, or usb driver, or possibly a virus, that's why I am scanning my pc right now.
I'm working with this mouse already over three years, nothing went wrong up to now. Only a couple of days ago the cursor started stopping from time to time, and now it stops every minute, I'm serious hé! every minute I have to wait some 5-7 seconds before I can continue working...
And I don't like again to setup my computer, I did relaod XP only 3 months ago.
This is something which did not happen before since I'm working with pc, and that is as long as since 1989!!!!
Please can somebody help.

Yeah. Run Malwarebyte's Antimalware in safe mode, remove anything it finds.

You may also want to download and install Piriform CCleaner to analyze and fix issues w/ your registry.

You can disable unneeded processes from starting up by doing the following:
Go to Start-->Run-->type in 'msconfig' and hit <enter>

In the Startup tab, uncheck everything that you do not need running in the background at startup and click "Apply." Then, in the Services tab, check Hide All Microsoft Services, uncheck everything that you do not need running in the background at startup and click "Apply." Restart the computer.

If Malwarebyte's does find some nasties, after you've removed them, run TrendMicro HijackThis! in safe mode and post your scan log here and we'll see if there's anything else that needs to be looked at.

Good Luck! :D

Hey!
Thanks!
Will it be OK when I use the free version of Malwarebyte's Antimalware ?
Same in fact for the other two programs?

if needing help then post in the security section if ya want a response. your in the computer accessories.

Mouse has gone bad. Buy a new one.
I have a usb mouse that does that.
I also have one that will just quit til you unplug it and plug it back in.
The ding-dong you are hearing is the mouse disconnecting and reconnecting.

Exactly. Try connecting another mouse and see if it does the same thing. If it is fixed you know it's the mouse, if it continues to do it, you have a more drastic problem. You may have to reinstall the USB controller drivers for your motherboard, or the USB controller itself might be going bad... (the hardware) One question though, do you have other USB devices that act this way (make the dong-ding noises) like this when you have them plugged in?

Thank you all !
I could not imagine that the mouse itself was the error!
I've taken an other mouse and no error anymore!
Why did't I myself not realise that the mouse was the error!!!!!!!!!!

Is there another computer you could test the mouse on to verify that it could be the mouse that's bad? Also what you could try doing is if possible, find an older driver and see if it works.

Rit, He just posted that another mouse fixed the problem. So why should he mess with other drivers?
Your reading more into it than what the problem was.
