Mouse with Mousepad

Hello,

I have a regular Dell laser mouse that has been working with the mousepad that I have, but all of a sudden doesn't work any longer

I moved my computer to another part of the house, and now the mouse won't work on the mouse pad that it worked on before the move. I can use the mouse only on the surface of my table.

I've already cleaned the laser with alcohol. The only change is that I've moved the computer to my bedroom.

Any experience and solutions with this?

I think cleans the lens with alcohol may have been a bad call. i would not do. i use like a eye glass wipe. as far as it not working with the pad i can only suggest changing the battery. not much else to do that i know of. it may be the battery is just getting weak and not working with the mouse pad.

Its probably a wired mouse, so it wont have battery.

Does it still work on the table after cleaning the surface?

Yes, it is a wired mouse, so no batteries. And it does work on the surface after I cleaned the lens.

I just did a System Restore, and that didn't help any.
