Movies? How do you get'em on HDD

I just bought a new computer and for the first time have a large hard drive. I read that you could put movies on the hard drive but have no idea how to start. How can get a movie on my drive and how much space will it take.

My first post..... Thanks in advance for the help. Hope this is not a dumb question.

You can either buy them online (iTunes, Amazon, etc.), or you can rip them from a DVD or Blu-Ray (assuming you have the correct disk drive).
