wat did you guys think of the movie Hero. I thought it was absolutely fantastic and can't belive it didn't win movie of the year.

o, u don't like the japanese movie action type i take it. DIdn't like crouching tiger hidden dragon either im gonna guess?
 
Hero was pretty good -- Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was Awsome and so was House of Flying Daggers. Funny how most of them originate from Graphic Novels or Comics for the average man. Theres one MAJOR downside to all these films and thats the the lack of realism. Bruce Lee is the Godfather of Kungfu film as he opened the door for Chinese actor & films to get to the international scope. Jackie Chan also deserves a place in the best categories.
:mad: :mad: :mad: Films like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The One or even Hero do suck because they're just people on ropes and people like us (kinda) that make the SFX like the Matrix scene with Neo and Agent Smith in the subway.

i like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan very much,but i don't like the two film above from China,i think the story is very absurdity,only some picture is pretty beautiful.that's all :cool:

I guess you guys have slightly different tastes than me. Okey then, wat movies do you like. My top five are
1.Hero
2.LOTR-Return of the King
3.LOTR-Fellowship of the Ring
4.The Matrix Revolutions
5.Friday Night Lights(I'm a HUGE sports fan, Baseball, Soccer, Lacrosse, Football, Basketball, I love everything)
 
Bad Boys 2 and White Chicks (im very easily ammused ;))

jackie chan bought humour too martial arts films. which reminds me, rush hour 2 would be in there too

Not really, I said films like Hero suck because of too much SFX but I didn't say I don't like them. Its funny as I have The Lord Of the Rings trilogy on dvd (What really annoyed my mum was that I bought the speacial extended dvd which is £30 in the UK and converted to dollars is $56.42 each). I also have Matrix Reloaded on dvd as well as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. :D
 
I liked the action in hero but the story was brilliant, too bad it was in chinese/ cantonese. I had a hard time keeping up with the complex plot and stories told by of The Nameless One :D

yea but after watching it 3 or for times, I got it
 
I knew what was going on, it was really wierd (sensations) watching the same story being told differently :D (I like the fight between The Nameless One vs Sky (or snow))
 
if you like action go watch this thai movie ong bak i think it is a 2003 movie. kick ass ala jackiechan/jetli.
