I read a topic about tips on making your computer faster and it said you can put your program files on your other hard drive ... ? And your programs will still work?

So it would be ok if i cut and paste my program files to my other HD
.....
What else can i put on my other HD to make my computer faster ?

P.S.

Right now i have all my program files on HD E:\\
and C:\\ is the one thats blank

and when i tried deleting the program files off the HD i been using cuz i copied all them and put em on C:\\ it said removing " " will cause some programs not to work .. so how can i delete all the program files off E:\\ and keeping the programs working cuz when i installed everything i put em on E:\\

Well, you can INSTALL your programs on another hard drive and they should work a-ok. But if you install the executables in one place and then try to move them to another, the computer will just sit there and refuse to do anything. If you want to save the data off of the program that you are using that you need, uninstall and then reinstall in the location you would like to put it, that is the only way to really "move" the program to another location. Basically because of the registry that exists in Windows it need to have everything in the same place in order for everything to work correctly. It's the same problem if you change the letter of a drive or try to put a program CD into a different drive than what it was installed on from. Certain parts of Windows just can't adapt to that sort of a change, that would be expecting too much of a fine piece of Microsoft engineering...

wierd setup, probably best to put windows on c drive, and then install all you apps to e:\

as dciscouts says dont just move the apps, you need to actual install them to there new location, or the app will not where all the files needed to run are.
