Moving Programs

I installed 2 large games on my c drive and was wondering if I could move them to the d drive and if so how do u move all of it so that c recovers the space. Fact is I would like to recover about 20 gbs of lost space on c drive plus the 10gbs for these games. I'm pretty sure now (after some reading) that I can load programs to the d drive directly when installing and they will work just as if installed on c, is this correct. Thanks

yes, you CAN run programs from another drive. the problem is that you would have to actually INSTALL them on that drive. there are registry files that most programs need to function, and if you just move an already installed program, it will look for that program on the drive that you originally installed it on. you'll have to uninstall and then reinstall on the drive you want it to be on.

Thanks, will install games on other drive in the future. If I uninstall the biggest one then it has to update again when reinstalled and at my dsl speed it takes about 4 hrs, so I'll just keep it where it is for now.

1 thing else on this; if I was to load vista on d drive (I currently have xp on c drive) would it dual boot or only boot to c since it is on the primary ide controller....d is on sata.
