Hello,
i have recently added an ssd drive to my laptop (instead of the dvd-drive),
now i have 3 drives:
1. regular 500gb hdd
2. 32gb ssd (which was used for booting my pc)
3. 256gb ssd

I would like to format my pc and install the os to my 256 gb ssd, my question is:
1. would it speedup the laptop? or should i just leave the os on the regular hdd and install the programs i want to work faster on the ssd?
2. is it possible to copy my windows to the new ssd from the hdd (i guess its some kind of oem becuase i got it when i bought the laptop and i get a disk)?

thanks a lot!

If you leave the OS on the HDD it will be slow.

Just do a fresh install onto your new SSD. You could clone it if you really wanted to, but a fresh install will have much better performance.

Thanks! i will do it, i want to do a fresh install, the problem is i dont have the key - can i copy it somehow(so i will have a genuine windows)?

If the machine came with Windows 8/8.1 the key is stored in the BIOS and Windows will activate automatically.

I am afraid it will not happen.. then i would be forced to buy another copy :( is there a way to manually take it? (before the format)

nop... there isnt :( any other way?
Did you not see the bottom of that?

Newer Windows 8 PCs can avoid all these problems. The key isn’t stored in software where it can be wiped, or on a sticker where it could be smudged off or removed. No one can glance at your computer’s COA sticker to steal its product key. Instead, the key is stored in the computer’s UEFI firmware or BIOS by the manufacturer.
