Mozilla vs "firefox and thunderbird"

What is better? Mozilla seems to be a browser and email program together, when you could just download firefox and thunderbird. Why would i get one over the other?

Mozilla is a suite that includes email, browsing, chat and web authoring. All of these ,(except for chat), are available on their own; Thunderbird, NVU and Firebird. There is some uncertainty about the future of Mozilla, most work is centering on the individual apps. There are more extensions available for the individual applications, and they are updated more frequently. It is probably best to stick to the individual programs.

I personally like the Firefox-Thunderbird combo. For some reason on my laptop Mozilla runs faster than Firefox so I use that. I use Firefox on my desktop and it seems more "stable" than Mozilla. If your looking for a great Outlook replacement Thunderbird is fantastic. I use Outlook at work but everytime I try running it at home it doesn't work very well. Thunderbird has been running great since I installed it. :D
