MP3 codec

I am trying to use Windows Plus! Audio Converter to convert WMA audio files to mp3, but I get the error msg: The file cannot be converted because it uses an unrecognized codec In the HELP menu of the program, it says an MP3 encoder must be installed on the computer. I googled it, and downloaded installed LAME MP3 Encoder v3.97, but I still get the error. Any ideas on what I may need to do would be appreciated.

sorry, no idea. i use iTunes. and when it imports songs i can set it to convert them to whatever format. but no idea how to help you sorry

That pretty much means you can't convert that file with that software. See if there are updates for the software or if you can get another file.

try DBPoweramp here, but it's strange cause the only way a file wont convert is when is protected..hmmm..odd
