I have some old music files on my computer that I would like to put on a mp3 cd for my auto. The files are for example:
duration 3:29
windows media file
bit rate 64 kbps
protected yes
size 1.61 mb

I have downloaded a mp3 converter but it still will not convert these files to mp3.
Can someone give me some direction on how to proceed?
thanks

possibly it is .mp3 file already.

just try burning them to a cd as data and load it into your auto.

that WMA protected, i havent ever found a way to convert those! itunes wont do it, i bet your better of redownloading it (legally, of course ;) ) or reimporting it from cds.
itunes is a very organized way of doing it, ive found. try it out, itll let you use MP3 vbr, but if you have an MP3 player just do regular mp3, some mp3 players dont support mp3 vbr, i know ipods do though!

i dont use itunes to get music though... i find uhh... cheaper ways. lol

Ugh. Sorry, but I think that iPods are so effing overated...:(

I've had 3 and they have all broken down within 3 months of purchase and I babied ALL of them! I also have friends that have gone through a ton! What sucks is that they have the money to go through tons of iPods, I don't!

Anyway, get an iAUDIO that supports most types of audio files... very good MP3 player I HIGHLY recommend it!

iRiver and iAUDIO all the way... or at least some other type of MP3 player.

use mplayer to dump the audio into wav then convert to mp3, that bitrate of 64kb/s isnt good though, quality wont be all that great

I think there are plugins for winamp that will do the same by grabbing the sound of the audio card while you play the music
