mp3 problems

It won't recognize it without a driver in Win98. Search for the model on the manufacturer's website and if you can find one download a driver for Windows 98 and install it. See if that works.

do you know what kind of creative mp3 player it is?
if u dont. you wont really know what kind of mp3 player driver to look for.

is there any type of numbering or lettering on the mp3 player? look for those and see if it matches up with anything on creatives site

This driver will have to be installed. When you download it just click open and it will self install. Then restart the comptuer and plug in your mp3 player, or plug it in when prompted to do so during teh installation. Then it will show up in my computer after the driver has fully installed (it will probably complete installation after you restart the computer) and you will be able to click and drag songs onto it.

Method 2 that I thought of:

Plug in your mp3 player after saving the download to your desktop or an easily accessible folder. Go to start>settings>Control Panel>Add new Hardware. As it searches, it should be able to recognize a new device. When it asks if you want the computer to search for a driver or for you to manually pick the location of teh driver, say picka location and browse until you find the folder the driver is stored in. Allow it to install and follow the instructions.
