I'm using old ms word 2001 when i put the software on will i be able to read all older documents ?

Yea, MSO 2007 reads every MS Office file format since the 97/98 (forgot) version, if not before, so you should be fine.

only the brand new xml versions wont be readable

Also when using MS 07 there is a ton of save options so that you can save in the new .docx format or the older MS office formats. A nice feature for those who have different Offices on multiple computers.
