MS responce time.

"Normally" when you talk about response times, are you talking about GTG(grey to grey) or black to white? I have researched MS response times so I know what response time I want in a monitor, but the one I'm looking at getting says a MS for GTG, and one for black to white, I don't know which one I should be comparing too.

I would think GTG, because I would think most manufacturers would use it, since it sounds better and would be better for marketing :P

I would think it would be black to white, but I see you're point with them measuring the grey to grey time... It's just like companies saying a megabyte is only 1000 bytes, and such...
 
That's what I first though, but then I relised.that most when they only say one, is probably grey to grey, but i wasn't sure and didn't want to regret it when its an 800$ monitor so I thought I would ask on a forum.
 
What is the responce time? I mean my LCD's running at 8ms, and I'm plenty pleased with it. Back when I got it, that was about as fast as you could get, but now I hear people saying 8-12 is pretty slow! I guess it really depends on the person and how picky they are :P
 
GTG is 6ms, black to white is 16ms, as you can see there is a big difference. I would really like to get anything under 8ms, but i would settle for it id i HAD too
