should i go with the ATI XPRESS or NVIDIA nForce ?

i plan on getting a X800XL so i thought i would pair them up

Well...

If you can, aim for a motherboard with the Nforce 4 Ultra chipset. It's a better choice than the above... . BTW what did you mean about being able to pair them up? If you mean SLI (NO CHANCE!). You will not be able to get them to do that. SLI is linked to Nvidia's 6600GTs and 6800GTs/Ultras.

I think he was talking about paring up an ATI chipset with an ATI vid card.
I'd go like jancz3rt says, aim for an Nforce 4 Ultra.
