MSI Components??? Norton antivirus.

Hi I am trying to uninstall an old version of Norton antivirus 2005 trial on my laptop, but it says it requires windows installers.I tried to download these from the Microsoft site, though I thought they should already be installed, but the problem keeps coming back....
It says,,, setup was unable to setup MSI Components???

If you can suggest any help how to get installers working or MSI or to get rid of norton?

download the Symnrt.exe program from Symantec. It'll remove it for you.
