yea i might look into buying it new egg don't seem to have many p45 mobo's listesd but dabs.com have quite a few listed

might it be better then the x48 chip set?

I am not sure,Is it crossfire only,no Sli?

yea its a Intel chip set so its cross fireX on the p45 platinum one i dunno about the cheaper one

Ahh okies...The cheaper one has only 1 pci x16 2.0 slot ,so I guess if you didnt want to run 2 cards it would be like a p35 only better OC'ing and better VGA slot.With the new cards coming out it might be good enough to run just 1 card.I would hate running Sli/crossfire and when you want to upgrade you have 2 mediocre cards that noone wants instead of just 1

yea that is the downside to upgrading gpu's if you running 2 or more gpu's in sli/cross fire but if u wanna run games like crysis at 1920x1200 resolution at max settings then i heard having 2 cards is quite a good boost from just 1 card running

Yep thats why I am waiting on the new cards like the 280 .It may only take 1 of those to reach similar sli/crossfire specs.Would hold its resale value better longer down the road than two mid range cards at that time.
