MSI Reliability?

Hi, I was doing research on MSI and all of the pros and cons with buying one of their laptops and I was wondering how reliable MSI really is. I've never heard of them and even my IT teacher at my school didn't know they existed. I've seen a few forums where people complain that they cannot get their laptops repaired after stupid defaults through MSI because they're very picky with warranty stuff. I was wanting a MSI GE60 0NC-006US. Thanks for any input on the subject.

I've got an MSI motherboard and it's fine. I'm surprised you've never heard of them. They seem to be a fairly reputable brand. Generally they do more of components than actual systems.

Well what do you think of the MSI GE60? I was planning to use it for medium/heavy gaming from time to time and general all around pc tasks, with a ton of HD video editing and iTunes playing.

msi is very good brand, they make lots of computer parts with very good satisfactory. Though I never ever owned any MSI stuff, so I don't know lol

Laptop looks like it would suit your needs. However it will never be as powerful as a desktop at the same price.

Kind of expensive, you'd think for above 1000 they'd stock it with a GTX series card. Not bad specs though, but I have not heard good things about MSI's laptops. A lot of heat problems from their model which features a GTX570 in it. If you get it, make sure you pick up the 2 year warranty for the extra $. I suspect you may need it.

I have read a lot of great things about MSI laptops but I have read that they are having issues selling there laptops which would make me wonder how there quality will continue as they may try to increase profits.
