MSI x58m 1600mhz memory

Simple question, does the MSI x58m support 1600mhz memory? I bought the motherboard used, and it came with 9gb of hyperx. On the auction on e-bay it said that this is 1600mhz memory, but in the bios it shows up as 1066mhz... Is it possible that it shows up as 1066mhz because the motherboard doesn't support 1600mhz ram? or did the seller make a mistake on e-bay saying it was 1600mhz?

It only officially supports 1066mhz but will support 1333mhz with an overclock. However, its fine the way it is, shouldn't cause any damage as it has just downclocked the ram to 1066mhz.

So it is possible that the memory I bought is 1600mhz but the motherboard downclocks it. Is 1066mhz really slow, or is it acceptable?

If the memory is really 1600, whats the model number. If the board supports 1333 OC. Just go into the bios and manually set it to 1333 and set the timing and voltage.

I'll try to do that, also the memory is supposed to be 9gb but in dxdiag it shows that I have only 3gb. I'm guessing that this is caused by 32-bit windows XP...
