MSN issues

Hi
I recently experienced problems with my msn messenger not connecting and coming up with error message 80072EE6. I searched for solutions online and finally thought id solved it by running CMD and then typing in 'ipconfig /flushdns'. However, whilst now i dont get this error message (so far) i still can't sign in. It now attempts too, saying 'signing in' but eventually reverts back to the initial screen, although i can now see my display picture. Any ideas of what i can do to sort this problem out?

Is the DATE (day/year/month) right?

Can you sign into Hotmail (if that's what your using) or a webbased one (eg, www.iloveim.com)

Are you using the latest version and have you tried there test tool?
( Tools > Options > Connection > Advanced > TEST)
 
Yep the date, month and time are all correct. I can sign into hotmail fine. I have tried their test tool, and everything seems fine there. Im using MSN Messenger 7.5. It was working fine for ages, and then all i can think is that something happened when i tried to use it on our home internet connection instead of the one at university.
 
Furthermore, i cannot sign in using windows messenger either. (i downloaded this just now, it wasnt installed at the same time as msn messenger 7.5)
