"EMERGENCY!!! If [email protected] adds you to your MSN Contacts, DO
NOT
(I repeat: DO NOT) add it because it's a virus that takes all ur
computer details. PLEASE tell everybody on your contacts because if

somebody
on
your list accepts it then you get the virus too!(copy and paste this
into
a new message because some people do not read forwards!) Don't just
forward
it! I REPEAT AGAIN: DO NOT ADD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "

Ok, just to make you all aware...

Tom

Too be honest i am really not sure, just i got the email so thought would let people aware just in case... maybe logs your IP address then sends the virus without you being aware. Might just connect to your msn account so that it can record the IP address. The same way that they could incourage you to go to a certain site and then record your IP...

Anyone have any better explanations?

Well would have to at least use msn sometime for the account to contact yours... but once IP logged then not always...as could be sent and recieved at anytime...

and if i delve a little further into this mystery i find

Attention all of you people getting here from search engines and emails. I know you are there. Please leave a comment to say “Hi!” or something! Cheers!
I just got
another one of those genius emails that are spreading vicious rumours about certain email addresses on MSN. In fact two arrived at pretty much the same time.
This time the hate mail was directed towards
[email protected] who, just like Andrew Cenita, originates from the good old land of Oz and has probably just upset some girls (or boys) in her class who happen to know a few people who would willingly forward an email such as this.
Get a grip guys, if anyone sends me another one of these emails I will not be a happy bunny. Seriously guys, you don’t want me to send out another mass email calling you all idiots again do you?
Admittedly there was a virus going around on MSN a while back, but it only affected those stupid enough to accept stupidly named files like “me naked at last weeks party.jpg.exe” from people who haven’t mentioned such files. It doesn’t help that you run without any kind of antivirus.
This one is special though – it can magically take hold of your MSN and then send itself to everyone on your MSN contact list, without anyone even knowing. I wish to meet this virus writer, ‘cos he must be a real genius.
Don’t do it – everyone starts to disbelieve everything you say and you are actually participating in the spread of hate mail.
Update: Just a few seconds after i finished this post, I got yet another email about this, bringing the grand total I have recieved to 3.
Congratulations to BlueLeaf
who today passed his driving test

*edit* sorry about the wierdness of my post... it seems to have turned the whole piece of text into a hyperlink

Thats like saying "Oh, my PC has a virus, lets never turn it on again EVER and hope it goes away", dont be a dumbass.

Yup that was a good comparison. Now don't you be a "dumb ass" by unnecessary childish name calling.

My friend did that for the longest time. It didn't work ebcause it was so badly infected and everyonce and a while he would turn it on and see if it worked....I dont know what he was thinking, that it had an expiration date or what? Untill I convinced him to let me have it heh.

And just after Blue had talked about childish name calling, you go ahead and do the same thing.

this sort of crap link back very well to this thread http://www.computerforum.com/showthread.php?t=31906

maturity people, lets not forget what it is. i dont care how old you are. if you're clever enough to be here then you have the intelligence to realise when you're acting like idiots.
and for the second time, its a hoax. its just a mini hate campaign thats spread its way around

Thats because i copied it from the email i recieved, which i did kind of state.. wasnt trying to pull anthing off, just copied the text from the email.

hehe, come on folk this was so clearly fake from the outset. Inpossible situation spreading excess fear. It lacked all the halmarks of a professional email.

As a side note (and interesting); the email is in fact a virus. Albeit no physical damage is done to the machine (as is the case in many virus). A virus sole fundemental purpose is to propogate itself. A cause served differently by varying strains, this one relys on the idiocy of users to spread.
