Hello People, Nice day for pc help, dont u think

Anyways

I have a computer, yep, infact i am using it right now :-)

which has 2 harddrives, lets say, See and Dee

i installed windows on C, used it for a while blah

then i'd installed it on D also, because the C harddrive was getting old and broken..

so then it changed C:\boot.ini and made me a duel boot, fancy eh ? :-)

Now, the problem is i want to take my C drive out, because its dying, and even that i dont use the windows verison on it anymore, the boot record as i call it, please correct me, if i am wrong, but anyways the windows boot files, such as boot.ini are on the C drive, so i cant remove it

I tryed, going in bios and changed the primary boot drive to D:\, but those files are not found and no boot record is found..

Does anyone know which files to move across and, which if any i have to change

thanks

You could try a Windows (or whatever OS) Repair on the D drive, get all the files you are missing, then plugout the C, that may work.

Put your windows disk in, go to the repair console at the begging, not the automatic recover thing later, and type in

fix mbr

hopefully that will fix it.

cheers

Cheers, i'll give it a go later on, i allways thought the mbr was some low level harddrive thing, not the windows files, but i'll try anyways

cheers
