Multiple IP Addresses and Slow Speeds???

Hello,

I'm on Tesco Broadband 2MB with a Speedtouch 530 Wired Modem/Router, connected to my PC by USB.

I have recently been checking my internet speeds on Speedtest.net.
I have been on quite a few times and it keeps saying I have different IP Addresses, some seem to give me slower speeds than others.

86.29.76.32 - 2 tests, maximum upload - 398 kb/s
86.29.67.152 - 3 tests, maximum upload - 589 kb/s
86.29.69.124 - 6 tests, maximum upload - 1511 kb/s
86.29.70.126 - 3 tests, maximum upload - 930 kb/s

Anyone know why my IP keeps changing and why some seem to give better speeds than others?

It is normal, you do not have a static IP so..

DHCP is a protocol used by networked computers (clients) to obtain IP addresses and other parameters such as the default gateway, subnet mask, and IP addresses of DNS servers from a DHCP server. It facilitates access to a network because these settings would otherwise have to be made manually for the client to participate in the network.

In otherwords you IP has nothing to do with your speed. Also, it is generally bad practice to hook up you internet through a USB cable, use an ethernet cable from your modem to your computer.

Also, make sure your firmware is up to date if you are using a router. Type in the router ip address into you internet browser and enter the username and password, they should be the default which you can find online. Also download up to date firmware and load it from the screen you get when you type in the routers IP address. If this is vague I will elaborate.
