Multiple Monitor Help.

Obviously this is my first post here, so I appreciate any help I can get.

Basically what I am trying to do is set up a 4 monitor system for as cheap as possible. I will be using the monitors solely for online poker so I don't need anything fancy, just something service-able. I dont know much about computers, however I do know that I need a system with open PCI slots to hook up the video cards. I am looking at this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7739824&type=product&productCategoryId=cat01172&id=1140392808146 computer right now which I think should work?

I also have no idea about the video cards. Can I just buy two dual PCI cards and simply hook up the 4 monitors to them? I was looking at these http://cgi.ebay.com/PCI-Bus-ATI-Radeon-64MB-DDR-Dual-Head-Video-Card-V27_W0QQitemZ160001249041QQihZ006QQcategoryZ40158QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. So basically my question to all of you is am I on the right track?

Thanks.

Getting four cards would be very hard to set up and prone to many bugs.

I also read somewhere that the PCI bus doesn't have anough power to support (bandwidth) to support that many cards
Another thing you could do is buy two cheap SLI card but you will also come across problems, and you would need a rather expensive Mobo. If you trully want multiple displays, I would get a card made for quad out displays, it will save you time and effort, and maybe even money.

Matrox sells TripleHead2Go which means you can connect 3 monitors to your computer. But they're pretty expensive, around 200-300$. Or get 2 DualHead2Go's and a videocard with 2 outputs. They have to be VGA outputs though, but there are DVI to VGA adapters.

why not just put two 7300's in sli and have 4 monitors.

for online poker, why would you need 4 monitors for online poker?

Not sure what 7300's are, would that be cheaper then a quad pci? I need four monitors so I can play 16 tables at a time. Im a sicko.

maybe you should cut back on your addiction rather than spending more money on it. to do this you would need two pci cards or a new mobo that has sli capabilty ($100-$150)

hmm. maybe I am trying to add monitors because I actually make money? Maybe I am using winnings to pay for these winnings?

Hey man, I'm not really sure about the motherboard in that PC but if I was you, I would just go with an AGP video card that has an avg and a dvi input (something like the ati radeon x1300pro) and then get another pci video card that also has an avg and dvi imput (that takes care of your four monitors) for about $250-$300). You can always go cheaper, but regardless, my advice is go with one AGP card and one PCI Card. I would not buy two pci cards. That's my advice.

And welcome to the multi-monitor world. I have to warn you though, once you get used to more than one monitor... it's relaly hard to go back to just one!

if you're playing 16 tables at a time i suspect you're playing your hands and not the tables.

But what do i know?

dude play one table at a time. most people that play poker end up in a never ending hell of a life. take your money and go get help for your addiction

not true, only a tiny fraction get addicted to the game.
And any good player should multi-table, unless they are high rolling. But play that many tables means he is onlyplaying his hand and not the table. I play 3-4 games at mid to low stakes, for higher stakes 1 games at a time please... yes thats a lot of waiting
