Is it possible to display a different window than the one i'm watching on my monitor
on a 2nd monitor or TV (more interested on TV) and how? I have had an ati card before. it allows me to have 9 different desktops wen the multidesktop function is turned on. is it possible to do wat i asked with either an nvidia/ati card?? any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Basically any aftermarket card today supports desktop spanning(I beleive that's what it's called) Look in the advnaced video settings, there should be an option to do so. I can't tell you exactly where it is because I have nvidia in this computer, not ATI.
 
please note that i have an nvidia 6800xt videocard(the GTO wouldn't work on my mb). Does the screen spanning function only extends the same desktop on to another monitor?

Yeah, it's no problem. Hook both monitors up and expand the desktop to the second monitor (it's in your display properties).. Then you can drag windows to either monitor.
